Stereospecific formation of vanadium mandelato complexes with [Fe(2,2′-bipyridine)3]2+ as a counter ion

Abstract Two vanadium complexes of mandelic acid having [Fe( bpy ) 3 ] 2+ as counterion, ][V 2 O 4 ( rac - mand ]·4.9H O·0.1CH CN 1 , FeV L and (H O)[Fe( [V 7 S ·28H = 2,2’-bipyridine, 2– mandelato ligand, C 8 H 6 have been synthesized characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction spectral methods.
